Meeting 3: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Fifteen Lancet NCDI Poverty Commission members met in Dubai, UAE, March 19-20 for two full days of intense and productive discussion. The meeting focused on a section-by-section review of the annotated outline, draft text, working papers, and other inputs for the Commission report. The meeting also provided time for critical discussion of key messages and recommendations, analysis of report data and evidence, and delegation of report section authors.
Meeting 2: Kigali, Rwanda
The second meeting of the Commission was held in Kigali, Rwanda, from September 28-30, 2016. The agenda of the three-day meeting included:
- Wednesday, 28 September — review and discussion of the progress, timeline, and deliverables of the global Commission and its four Working Groups, including working papers from each of the Working Groups and the outline of the final Commission report;
- Thursday, 29 September — visit facilities and meet with leaders of innovative NCDI policies and programs at the national, district, and community levels
- Friday, 30 September — review and discussion of goals, progress, timelines, and deliverables of national NCDI Poverty Commissions, including reports from several active national Commissions and presentation of frameworks for national-level research and analysis developed by the global Working Groups.
Meeting 1: London, England
The first meeting of the commission was held in London from Jan. 20-Jan. 22, 2016. It brought together 21 of the 23 commissioners and launched the working groups for the global commission.
