Edith Mukantwari, a person living with type 1 diabetes in Uganda, is also a public health activist, a nutritionist, and a diabetes educator. In addition, she is president of the Africa Diabetes Alliance, a Uganda-based organization that seeks to encourage diabetes education and to bridge the information gap for people living with diabetes.

Mukantwari was one the first eight advocates to join the NCDI Poverty Network’s Voices for PEN-Plus program, which launched in September 2023.
