Democratic Republic of the Congo

The NCDI Poverty Commission of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which launched in May 2021, convened in October 2023 to review noncommunicable disease data as part of a priority-setting workshop. During the meeting, participants developed and validated a list of 25 priority noncommunicable diseases along with their estimated costs. Sickle cell disease emerged at top of the list, followed by cancer. The Commission has since finalized its Phase 1 Report, which is divided into two parts: the situation analysis and the priority setting.
