Third Symposium on Integration Science

Save the date! The Center for Integration Science in Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital will host the Third Symposium on Integration Science on October 27, 2026, from 12 to 5 pm, with a reception to follow. The free symposium will take place at the Joseph B. Martin Center, located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area of Boston.

The Center for Integration Science—in partnership with Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Mozambique—serves as the co-secretariat for the NCDI Poverty Network, a partnership of health leaders in nations representing the poorest billion as well as advocacy, policy, funding, and technical partners from around the world.

The Network seeks to expand access to lifesaving treatments of the world’s most vulnerable children, adolescents, and adults, largely through PEN-Plus, an integrated care-delivery model that enables low- and lower-middle-income countries to deliver care to children, adolescents, and young adults living with severe, chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, sickle cell disease, and rheumatic and congenital heart disease.

The PEN-Plus model is the most advanced application of integration science, a growing field at the intersection of health-system design, service delivery, and social medicine. The remarkable success of PEN-Plus in a relatively short time suggests the potential for integration science to forge other global health equity strategies.

The Third Symposium on Integration Science will explore both that potential and ongoing PEN-Plus enhancements.

More details and a registration link will follow.
